The MQ2 Gas Sensor Module is a widely used gas and smoke detection device designed to detect the presence of combustible gases in the environment. This includes LPG, propane, methane, hydrogen, alcohol, smoke, and carbon monoxide (CO). The sensor uses tin dioxide (SnO₂) as its sensitive material, which has low conductivity in clean air but shows increased conductivity as the concentration of combustible gases rises. The module offers both analog and digital outputs, making it highly compatible with popular development platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and other microcontrollers. Its adjustable sensitivity, fast response time, and low power consumption make it ideal for DIY projects, safety systems, and industrial gas monitoring applications.
